CL151

HAS HISTORICALLY PROVIDED ONE OF THE HIGHEST YIELD POTENTIALS OF ANY PURE-LINE RICE SEED VARIETY.

CL151 is a very early, semi-dwarf variety developed at the LSU AgCenter H. Rouse Caffey Rice Research Station. Since its release, it has been planted on more rice acreage than any other Clearfield® variety or hybrid. It has the highest yield potential of any pure-line variety and has garnered many acres throughout the South, but especially in the upper Mid-South. CL151 mills well but is known for its propensity for chalky kernels. CL151 is very susceptible to blast and straight head and susceptible to sheath blight and lodging.

AT A GLANCE

  • Exceptional yield potential
  • Uses nitrogen efficiently — manage nitrogen input to reduce lodging and disease pressures
  • Susceptible to blast; not recommended for fields with a history of blast or water issues

  • 0 Seed /lb is not an exact number; it is an average from multiple samples harvested over a wide geography.
  • 1 Seeding rate is a suggestion based on drill-seeding in ideal conditions and fungicide/insecticide treated seed. Planting non-treated seed is not recommended. Seeding rate should be increased by a minimum of 10 lbs/A when using non-treated seed, planting into a rough seedbed, water-seeding, high pH soils and soils with salinity issues.
  • 2 Nitrogen rate is a suggested rate based on a two-way split nitrogen application with the first application being applied on dry soil.
