HORIZON AG NEWS
Thank you, from the entire Horizon Ag team. LuElla Sprout not pictured.
With the rice harvest complete except for ratoon crop cutting in the Coastal Region, we want to take the opportunity to thank you for your trust, partnership and business this past season.
Demand for rice seed was high last winter, and we were proud to rise to the challenge, supplying more rice growers with varieties offering excellent yield and milling quality potential.
Horizon Ag would not be in business without our farmer customers and the support of our seed retail, university and industry partners. We value those relationships and remain committed to working together for the sustainability of the U.S. Rice industry.
That commitment is why we launched a new partnership with the Louisiana State University AgCenter last year, creating an innovative rice breeding program that aims to develop new varieties that will benefit the rice-producing areas in the southern United States, and invested in a new rice breeder who will lead that effort.
It’s also why we created a new Grower Advisory Board, made up of both customers and non-customers, to help us better understand and stay current with the challenges facing rice growers and our industry.
Looking ahead to next season, please know that we are ready to do it all again, working with you to make the right decisions to meet the challenges that 2025 will bring.
We have done our best to anticipate your planting needs and interest in leading Clearfield® varieties like CLL18, CLL19, CLL16 and Provisia® varieties PVL03 and PVL04.
Because at Horizon Ag, it’s not about selling more seed. It’s about making farmers in Rice Country more successful.
We extend our sincere thanks to the members of our Grower Advisory Board for a successful inaugural meeting last week. We appreciate their valuable insights, openness, and dedication to advancing solutions for growers and the U.S. rice industry.
Horizon Ag, partnering with BASF and John Deere Financial, is proud to offer rice growers fixed financing on Horizon Ag Clearfield and Provisia seed for the 2025 season.
